While full of history and family memories, the structure had reached a point where upgrading the existing fabric would not deliver the comfort, efficiency, or layout required for modern family living. After careful planning and consultation, the decision was made to undertake a full demolition and rebuild — creating a new home on the original footprint that honours the past while embracing the future.

The Original Structure & Strip-Out Phase

The early photographs show the house during structural strip-out, with openings formed and fabric exposed. Decades of layered construction were carefully assessed before demolition progressed.

Key challenges included:

• Mixed construction methods spanning over 150 years
